Pakistan Railways to outsource 14 more trains

New mode of operation to deliver efficient, safe and cost-effective services to passengers

Pakistan Railways (PR) has outsource 14 more trains after Farid Express and Mehr Express which have already been running under publicprivate partnership, as per notification issued from the Lahore headquarter office. According to the letter regarding outsourcing, a total of 16 passenger trains had now been put to commercialisation. These include Gujranwalla Pass, 217 Up and 218 Down, Gujranwalla Pass, 219 Up and 220 Down, Gujranwalla Pass, 221 Up and 222 Down, Hazara Express. 11 Up and 12 Down, Sir Syed Express, 35 Up and 36 Down, Multan Express, 117 Up and 118 Down, Karana Express, 253 Up and 254 Down Chenab Express, 135 Up and 136 Down, Lalamusa Express, 137 Up and 138 Down and Narowal Express, 211 Up and 212 Down. Other trains included Sandal Express, 139 Up and 140 Down, Sargodha, 123 Up and 124 Down, Kohat, 133 Up and 134 Down, Shalimar, 27 Up and 28 Down, Mehran, 149 Up and 150 Down and Shah Katif Express, 151 Up and 152 Down. Among said number of trains put to commercialisation, Mehr Express was already outsourced about one and half months ago. Meanwhile, Railways Workers Union, Railways Mehnat Kush Union, Railways Signal Staff Association, Railways Traffic Yard Staff Association, Railway Guard Association, Train Drivers Association, T i c k e t s E x a m i n e r s Association, Commercial Staff Association and Carriage and Wagon Staff Association raised protest over on-going outsourcing process of different trains running through across the country
