NAB sets up anti-corruption academy
National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Thursday said the national graft-buster has established its own ‘Pakistan Anti-Corruption Academy’ in Islamabad on modern lines.
“NAB officers and prosecutors are being imparted modern training on regular basis, which helps in improving their standards of investigations and workings,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.
NAB has been tasked to eradicate corruption from the country, the chairman said, adding that proactive officers are needed to perform the duties of corruption elimination.
He added that a comprehensive plan 2020 has already been devised to improve the professional skills of the anti-graft body officers. “For successful implementation of the training programme – the skilled trainers are imperative. Pakistan Anti-Corruption would ensure imparting training among newly inducted NAB officers,” Justice (retd) Iqbal said.
The academy would train the officers to impart financial crimes training, it reads, adding that it would also provide services to forensic examination and prosecution services to provincial and federal institutions.
The academy will also put forth suggestions to improve deficiencies and flaws in the system, he added.
