Govt increases Baloch students’ quota
In a goodwill gesture and to increase harmony among provinces, the Punjab government has increased quota public universities for female students from Balochistan.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has highlighted that the quota for girl students from Balochistan has been increased in eight women's universities of Punjab. Now 360 seats have been reserved for female Baloch students. Two seats have been reserved in every degree programme of the every women’s university of Punjab.
Buzdar made this announcement while speaking to a delegation led by Baluchistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Minister Industries Haji Muhammad Khan Toor Utman Khel who called on him at the Chief Minister Office on Wednesday.
The delegation thanked the chief minister for his exemplary initiatives taken for the welfare and betterment of the people of Balochistan.
Baluchistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmad Buledi lauded the spirit of Punjab CM for working together for the strengthening, development and progress of Pakistan. He said that Buzdar has played a commendable role for bridging the gap between Punjab and Balochistan.
Minister Industries Baluchistan Haji Muhammad Khan Toor Utman Khel also appreciated the services of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for promoting provincial harmony.
While talking to the delegation, Buzdar said the development of Baluchistan along with the progress of Punjab is equally important for him that is why there was the quota of Baloch students in Punjab's public and private universities.
He said the Punjab government has started various development projects in Baluchistan as a goodwill gesture including setting up of Punjab House in Gwadar and a centre for the devotees in Taftan.
A technical college is being established in Kharan, similarly, a branch of Bank of Punjab and Rescue 1122 Centre is being established in Musa Khel besides providing transport and other facilities for the college. Hospital is also being set up in Turbat.
