AIOU postpones exams due to Covid-19

The vice-chancellor said that the university will follow the decisions of the government in letter and spirit

ISLAMABAD:

The Allama Iqbal Open University on Tuesday announced that its examinations for the spring semester 2020, scheduled to commence across the country from November 26, have been postponed.

However, papers scheduled for Wednesday, November 25 (today) will be conducted as scheduled.

The decision came in wake of the decision by an inter-provincial committee of education ministers to close all educational institutions from November 26 until January 10 owing to the second wave of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

An Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) official said that the varsity had decided to postpone its exams on Monday during a high-level meeting which was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ziaul Qayyum.

The decision, however, will not apply to the online examinations being conducted for overseas students. The vice-chancellor said that the university will follow the decisions of the government in letter and spirit.
