Govt plans to set up seed facility on 13,000 acres

For the promotion of agricultural research and seed development, the Punjab government is considering a proposal to establish a seed development facility on 13,000 acres of land.

A proposal to construct China Centre or CPEC Tower in the provincial capital is also under consideration.

Both these projects came under discussion during a meeting between China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar here on Tuesday.

They also reviewed the progress of ongoing CPEC related projects in Punjab. The chief minister highlighted that this 13,000 acres of land will be utilised for seed development and agriculture research in the province.

Information desks will be set up in China Centre or CPEC Tower to provide necessary information to local investors about huge Chinese industrial sector under one roof, he said.

The government will extend necessary support to Chinese investors for setting up industries in the province and they will also be offered several incentives along-with security, he assured.
