Fashion Pakistan Week postponed to 2021
Fashion Pakistan Council's annual Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW), which was slated for December 5 and 6, 2020 at a beautiful, tropical garden, has now been pushed to 2021.
According to an Instagram post by Fashion Pakistan, the event has been postponed to February 2020 over safety concerns. "We hope to see you next year, stay home and stay safe," it added.
Maheen Khan, who began her term as the new Chairperson of the Fashion Pakistan Council (FPC) earlier this year, shared a post confirming the same on her Twitter. "Training new girls for FPW 2021. #NewBeginnings #FashionModel 2021 I cant wait!" she wrote.
The upcoming FPW will be a two-day intimate, exclusive affair aimed at highlighting fashion and design, a press release had stated earlier.
Presenting collections in a glamorous atmosphere, best suited to watch a designers craftsmanship and vision come, FPW will be embracing the new digital format utilised globally.
The collections will be live-streamed along with the show from the venue. In a post-Covid-19 environment, FPW will be following International Fashion week’s trends and GoP guidelines by restricting seating and traditional fashion week practices.
This year has taught the world the importance of community, support and the power of donation. As a non-profit, the Fashion Council Pakistan understands the important role donors play in creating successful outcomes. In this spirit, the up and coming FPW has promised to donate a percentage of its proceeds to Special Olympics, Pakistan.
Fashion Pakistan Week was Pakistan’s first formal fashion showcase held in 2007, and has remained the premier platform for designers and retailers. FPW desires to put fashion on the forefront with design and aesthetics being the star highlights.
