Gang of dacoits busted

Police recovered stolen cash, three mobile phones, a motorbike and weapons from their possession

ISLAMABAD:

At least four suspected dacoits were apprehended in the federal capital while stolen cash, mobile phones, motorbike and weapons were from their possession, an Islamabad Police spokesperson said on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a squad of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), led by DSP Hakim Khan, raided the suspected hideout of a gang of dacoits and apprehended four people.

The suspects, believed to have been involved in several armed robberies within the remits of the Ramana and Noon police stations, were identified as Muhammad Tanveer, Muhammad Saeed, Ali Akber - from Sahiwal - and Rana Azam - from Sargodha. Police recovered stolen cash, three mobile phones, a motorbike and weapons from their possession.
