PML-N denied permit for rally in Mansehra
Citing the recent surge in novel coronavirus cases across the country under a second wave of the pandemic virus, the Mansehra district administration on Tuesday refused to grant permission to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to organise a public rally in the district.
The PML-N was scheduled to hold a public gathering in the district today (Wednesday).
The district administration on Tuesday said that the provincial government has banned public rallies in the province following a spike in novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz and others were scheduled to address the crowd.
The provincial government has said that the second wave of the virus is more dangerous than the first one, with a sharper increase in new infections recorded already. Hence, all preventive standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines need to be strictly followed.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Information Kamran Bangash said that the second wave of Covid-19 has started in the province.
In the first week of October, he said that they were recording as many as eight associated deaths daily. This has since jumped to 25 per day.
