Another 942 infections, nine deaths in Sindh
Sindh reported 942 fresh Covid-19 cases overnight, said provincial chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday, adding that the province had detected 155,680 cases since the pandemic broke out in the country.
Moreover, according to the statement released by the CM House on the day, the contagious disease claimed nine more lives, taking Sindh's death toll to 2,747.
According to the CM, there were currently 10,226 active coronavirus patients in Sindh, of whom 9,721 were in home isolation, 499 were being treated at different hospitals and six were quarantined at isolation centres. He added that 379 patients were in critical condition, with 38 of them on ventilators.
On the other hand, 290 people regained health overnight, lifting the number of recoveries in the province to 142,707.
Shah further stated that of the newly reported infections, 624 emerged in the provincial capital, with 234 cases from East district, 196 from South, 65 from Central, 60 from West, 47 from Korangi and 22 from Malir.
He added that Hyderabad saw 121 cases on the day, Qambar-Shahdadkot 24, Jamshoro 21, Badin 18, Sukkur 14, Shaheed Benazirabad 13, Jacobabad 10, Umerkot nine, Ghotki eight, Larkana and Shikarpur six each, Tando Allahyar and Matiari five each, Tando Mohammad Khan four, Kashmore, Mirpurkhas and Thatta two each, while Tharparkar and Sanghar reported one apiece.
