Cricket training held for visually impaired women
The training built on Australia’s support to the PBCC in forming Pakistan’s first blind women’s cricket team in 2018
ISLAMABAD:
A five-day training was held in the capital for female blind cricket players.
The training had been organised by the Australian High Commission in collaboration with Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC).
Australian High Commissioner Dr Geoffrey Shaw, while presenting awards at the end of the training, said that Australia’s aims to support more women with disabilities in the sport so that they can compete and demonstrate their ability.
“Sport can help reduce gender stereotypes and negative perceptions associated with people with disabilities,” he added.
The training built on Australia’s support to the PBCC in forming Pakistan’s first blind women’s cricket team in 2018.
