Four die in Sargodha accident

Rickshaw carrying seven persons was hit by rashly driven truck in Sillanwali area

Four people including two women were killed while three others sustained injuries in a vehicle collision in Sillanwali police limits, Sargodha on Tuesday.

Police said the accident occurred after a rashly driven truck rammed into a rickshaw.

As per the details, the rickshaw was carrying seven persons when it reached Chak No 143NB. The rickshaw was hit by the speeding truck.

Consequently, Amna Bibi, Khatoon Bibi, Muhammad Sarfraz and the rickshaw driver Zulfiqar were killed on the spot.

Moreover, Abida Khalil, Abdul Khalil and Haris Khalil sustained injuries. On getting information, a Rescue 1122 team and police reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sillanwali THQ Hospital. Police registered a case and started investigation.

Cases of road accidents were increasing in the province.

On September 30, at least two people were killed while another sustained injury in separate incidents in Shahpur and Khushab.

Muhammad Nasir, a resident of Shahpur, along with his friend Ramzan, was riding a motorcycle on Shahpur-Khushab Road when a speeding dumper hit the two-wheeler near Aqal shah.

Consequently, Nasir died while Ramzan sustained injuries. A Rescue 1122 team shifted the injured person to a hospital.

In another incident, Zameer Ali of Namaywali, was riding a motorcycle when another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with him.

Zameer died on the spot due to severe head injuries.

On July 17, two people were killed and four others sustained injuries in an accident in Bhera.

Waheed Akbar of Dera Ghazi Khan was going to Abbotabad along with his family by a car when its tyre bust, due to which it overturned on the motorway. As a result, Khushnaseeb, 9, daughter of Waheed and Parveen Bibi died on the spot.
