An elderly woman, Nasreen Bibi, from Gora Qabristan, was evicted after her house was razed to the ground by the authorities on Sunday. She cried that her house had been snatched from her, leaving her and her children without a roof over their heads.
The woman said that the authorities arrived on Sunday morning. They threw her out along with her belongings and demolished two rooms of her house. She claimed that her father had first bought the property, spreading over 15 kanals and 10 marlas.
She added that her father had then transferred the property to her name and that she has been living there with her children since pre-partition times.
