Two held for harassing foreign women

The Islamabad police have arrested two suspects for allegedly harassing three foreign women, who had lost way while hiking in Sanyari forest.
The suspects identified as Furqan and Abrar had allegedly harassed the three women, who were from Turkey, Italy and Norway.
The Islamabad police had formed special teams to arrest suspects involved in harassing three foreigners near Sanyari village in the precincts of Kohsar police station. Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed had ordered City SP to book the offenders at the earliest.
The women had told the police that they had gone for hiking in the Sanyari forest and strayed. Some three suspects reached there and harassed them. However, they fled after the women resisted and started screaming for help.
The police reached the forest as early as it received the complaint and found the girls.
Islamabad police officials said that the police teams were conducting raids in the area to find other suspects and assured that they would be arrested soon.
Separately, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police have busted five members of a dacoit gang and recovered mobile phone and weapon from their possession.
A police spokesman on Saturday said, Investigation SP Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a team under the supervision of CIA DSP Hakim Khan, including Sub-Inspector, Zafer Iqbal ASIs Safder, Sadeer along with other officials which successfully busted the gang involved in snatching valuables at gun point.
They were identified as Shahid Gujjar, Anar Gul, Qadeem Shah, Irfan and Zahid Khan.
Police team also recovered mobile phone, three 30 bore pistols along with ammunition and others dacoity tools from their possession.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to their involvement in incidents of looting people in various areas of Islamabad. Separate cases have been registered in Sabzi Mandi police stations against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
