Covid-19 claims nine more lives in Punjab

With 352 fresh infections, total virus cases exceed 106,200

LAHORE:

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed nine more lives in the province while 352 fresh infections were reported on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 106,200 while the total number of deaths in the province was recorded as 2,399 altogether.

The P&SHD confirmed that 158 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the provincial capital, one virus case in Kasur, two in Sheikhupura, 11 in Nankana Sahib, 26 in Rawalpindi, one in Attock, two in Jhelum, five in Gujranwala, three in Sialkot, one in Narowal, 18 in Faisalabad, three in Jhang, 63 in Multan and seven in Khanewal.

Moreover, one coronavirus case was reported in Lodhran, five virus cases in Sargodha, four virus cases in Mianwali, two in Khushab, two in Chiniot, 11 in Bhakkar, 15 in Bahawalpur, two in Jhang, one in Dera Ghazi Khan, one in Muzaffargarh, three in Okara and two in Bahawalnagar district during the last 24 hours.

The Punjab health department had so far conducted 1,666,112 tests for Covid-19 while 97,584 confirmed cases recovered in the province.
