Rangers official, two others killed in road accidents

Three cops wounded as police van collides with passenger coach

KARACHI:

Three people, including a Rangers official, were killed while six others were injured in separate road accidents in the city on Friday.

Three men riding a motorcycle were injured when a trailer-truck slammed into them on Hub River Road. Two of the wounded men succumbed to their injuries while being taken to the hospital, while the third was under treatment at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Ata Muhammad, 30, Khalid, 32, while the injured man was identified as Tariq, 35. According to Tariq, the deceased were his friends and worked with him at K-Electric.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident near the Rangers Headquarters at Super Highway. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

According to rescue workers, the deceased, 32-year-old Basharat, was a Rangers official. The body was handed over to Rangers officials after the completion of medico-legal formalities.

Moreover, three police officials were injured when a police van collided with a passenger coach near Lucky Charhai. The injured officials, identified as 27-year-old Rizwan, 46-year-old Ali and Younus, 55, were shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for treatment.

Separately, two people, including a child, were wounded when two motorcycles ran into each other. The injured, identified as Zameer, 13, and Rajan, 28, were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
