LAHORE:

Prime Minister Imran Khan is a vivid example of an entrepreneur who made things possible against all odds, remarked Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Aminul Haque.

His comments came while speaking as a chief guest at the National Incubation Centre (NIC) where startup founders showcased their success stories before the digital entrepreneurship students. "This activity highlights focus of the present government on entrepreneurship that will help youth resolve socio-economic problems besides creating jobs and generating revenue for the country," he said. "Each of the founders took a difficult path to chalk out their destiny rather than entering the rat race of working from 9 to 5 daily."

Speaking on the occasion, Ignite National Technology Fund Chief Executive Officer Junaid Imam urged students to come up with innovative ideas for participating in the cohort induction pitches of the NIC programme incubators. He pointed out that such spaces offered a world-class learning environment and mentorship which, in turn, provided excellent opportunities to hone the entrepreneurial talent of the youth. Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology Vice Chancellor Dr Valiuddin thanked Haque for providing an opportunity to students of his university to observe a variety of innovative ideas and meet successful entrepreneurs. In his speech, he asked the students not to get inhibited by the fear of the unknown. Among the various innovations displayed at the event, S-tech startup from NIC Islamabad had developed different applications for human resources management, traffic monitoring and crowd flow management.
