A hearing for the bail plea filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Captain (retd) Safdar Awan in assets beyond means case could be heard on Wednesday due to a strike by lawyers. As a result, the hearing was adjourned.
Safdar appeared before the Peshawar High Court on Wednesday for the hearing of his pre-arrest bail petition against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), who have accused him of owning assets beyond his known sources of income.
However, with lawyers across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) staging a strike against an amendment in the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) 1908, NAB prosecutor Azeem Daad urged the court to hear the case at another date.
The court said that they will decide another date after the strike ends and extended Safdar’s bail.
