Victims suffered bullet injuries while recording a video clip with weapons

Popular social media application TikTok allegedly claimed the life of a youth and left another injured in Sundar area of the provincial capital.

Initial investigation showed that the victims suffered bullet injuries while recording a video clip with weapons.

Daud and his fiend Abdul Rehman, both aged 22 to 25, ran a property business in an elite housing society in Sundar area. They were busy in making a video in their office to upload on social media.

All of a sudden, a weapon accidentally went off and both suffered bullet injuries. They were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where Daud succumbed to injuries. Abdul Rehman received a bullet injury on his arm.

A police team reached the spot on information, collected forensic evidence and recorded statements of witnesses.

Initial investigation showed that the incident resulted due to an accident during recording of a video clip for TikTok. Saddar SP Hafeezur Rehman Bugti said they were investigating the matter further.

A few weeks back, the government of Pakistan taking notice of immoral content rampant on the app had banned the app. However, after negations and assurances from the company, the decision was retrieved.

Besides the presence of immoral content, the app has claimed lives of multiple youths in the past also in different cities of Pakistan.

In a similar incident in July, a youth had died in Bahwalapur. The victim identified as Muhammad Sufian was filming a video for the social media.
