Five ‘terrorists’ arrested in Rajanpur

Officials claimed they were also planning to launch terrorist attacks on vital installations

RAJANPUR:

Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in a joint intelligence based operation, caught five alleged terrorists in Rajanpur. The CTD also seized suicide jackets, hand grenades, arms and ammunition during the operation.

The suspected members of a terrorist organisation were caught in the Goth Mazari area, Rojhan tehsil, Rajanpur district.

The joint team had been gathering intelligence about the terrorist network for the last several months. The said network was shifting from Balochistan to Rajanpur.

Officials claimed they were also planning to launch terrorist attacks on vital installations in South Punjab.

Recoveries from the suspects include suicide jackets, hand grenades, Kalashnikov, rifles, pistols and ammunition.

The accused were identified as Ejaz Ali Khan alias Waqas, Saghir Ehtesham, Jabir Ehtasham, Anwer Khan alias Mufti Abdullah and Kamran Zahid alias Asad.
