Sindh’s Covid-19 tally surges past 146,000

KARACHI:

Sindh has reported four more coronavirus-related deaths and 480 new cases overnight, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday. The province’s Covid-19 death toll has now climbed to 2,631 and the infection tally has surged to 146,331, he added.

According to the details shared by the CM, Karachi continues to contribute the most cases to the province Covid-19 tally, reporting 367 of 480 new infections.

Besides, Hyderabad has reported 25 fresh cases, Mirpurkhas has reported 12, Khairpur, Dadu and Ghotki six each, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro four each, Thatta three, Umerkot, Matiari, Sujawal and Tando Mohammad Khan two each, and Larkana and Sanghar one each.

On the other hand, the CM said, 110 Covid-19 patients recuperated from the disease, taking the total numbers of recoveries recorded in the province so far to 138,779.

Of the 4,921 active cases, 4,675 patients are in home isolation, one in an isolation centre and 245 in hospitals, he added. The CM said that among these patients, 186 were in critical condition, including 28 on ventilators.
