Three killed, five injured in road accidents

KARACHI:

Three people were killed and five others were injured in separate road accidents on Friday.

A young boy was crushed to death by a truck during an Eid Miladun Nabi procession in Kharadar.

The boy was reportedly trying to catch packets of food, being distributed from the truck moving along with the procession, when he was crushed under it.

The body was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities, where the deceased was identified as Arsalan, 13.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident near Sujawal on the same morning. The bodies were shifted to Lyari in Karachi. According to rescue workers, the deceased, identified as Aziz, 22, and Muneer, 23, had met the accident while travelling towards Shah Atiq Shrine.

Separately, three men were wounded when two motorcycles collided near Water Pump The injured, identified as Zia Arif, 48, Noor Bakhsh, 45, and Sarib, 30, were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.

Moreover, two others were injured in separate road accidents at the Northern Bypass and Sohrab Goth near Jamali Bridge. The injured were identified as Habibullah, 25, and Kalam, 27.
