Six Malir schools closed as Covid-19 cases emerge
After the number of coronavirus cases reported from six government schools in Malir district rose, the district education officer ordered the schools' closure for five days on Wednesday.
According to the notification, the school principals have been directed to ensure the disinfection of the educational institutions in question. The notification further stated that those who had been in close contact with infected persons should be quarantined and made to follow the relevant standard operating procedures. The schools will reopen after November 1.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that the coronavirus had claimed seven more lives in the province overnight, pushing the death toll to 2,611. Furthermore, 316 fresh coronavirus cases were detected in Sindh, lifting the virus tally so far to 144,765.
On the other hand, as many as 615 patients recovered from the contagious disease overnight, taking the number of recoveries in Sindh to 137,656.
