Mansha Pasha clarifies she criticised trend of promoting desi practices as 'sustainable fashion'

Actor reassured she did not call out sustainability in fashion but the way the term is used to create hype

Popular actor Mansha Pasha recently penned her two cents on sustainable fashion, relaying how she was not convinced by the idea.

She expressed how she failed to understand the obsession with sustainability in life and style, since desi households had been practicing it for ages now.

But following the backlash from people who thought she had failed to encompass the vast concept of sustainability, Pasha has tweeted again.

“With respect to my last tweet – Ethical fashion encompasses many things including worker rights, ecological impact of dying fabric, water consumption,” wrote the actor, making sure she relayed her understanding of the cause.

She then clarified, “I was speaking of the trend of reusing clothing done in desi households, which is then promoted as sustainable fashion online.”

It’s clear the Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida actor will not sit back while being misconstrued.

The actor's earlier tweet, however, read, "Sustainable fashion/living: Don’t know why this has become a trend because it’s been given a fancy name." The Laal Kabootar star added, "It’s basically what parents in the subcontinent have always taught their children: cheezon ko zaya mat karo aur kapre ko alag alag occasions par use karo! (Don't waste anything and learn to reuse outfits on different occasions)," Pasha added.

"Growing up my sisters and I wore each other’s clothes multiple times," she continued, revealing how the same was practiced on the sets of hit television serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai.
