Advisor to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar on Saturday said the federal government has taken notice of reporter Ali Imran Syed's disappearance and offered the support and assistance of all federal agencies in this case and for the general safety of journalists in the province,
Ali Imran, a reporter working for a private news channel allegedly went missing on Friday night according to a report published on the media organisation’s website.
Akbar added that secretary interior has also spoken to Sindh's Inspector General of Police for the early recovery of the journalist.

According to the report, Imran left his home last evening after telling his family he would be back in half an hour, and has not returned home since. Imran’s wife said the car was parked outside their home and her husband did not take his cell phone with him.
Karachi police chief and DIG East have been informed about Imran’s disappearance, added the report.
