Sonam Kapoor or Yashma Gill: Who wore the denim saree better?

While the Bollywood diva nailed the look back in 2017, Gill wore the eerily similar outfit on her birthday this year

When it comes to fashion, Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor is one to take all the chances. Thinking out of the box every time she steps out, the Neerja star seems to nail the look more than often. Be it a pantsuit with a trail, or a sari with a drape, Sonam has always been making headlines for her eccentric outfits.

Back in 2017, the Veere Di Wedding actor was seen wearing a saree that according to an Instagram post by her stylist-sister, Rhea, was recycled from an "old Levi's into a sari dream" by designer, Masaba Gupta.

You read that right. A denim saree. Even though Sonam has always had a knack for pulling off the most unconventional of outfits with uncanny ease is no secret, but her latest tryst with a saree made of denim has us swooning.

Replete with flared trouser-style bottoms, the saree came with pleats and a front palla that was paired with a turtle-neck blouse of the same material. Throw in a pair of earrings from Suhani Parekh's MISHO, a tan-hued belt and loafers to see a denim dream turn into a thing of eclectic reality.

Sonam paired her look with tanned leather loafers and we love it!

However, while sometimes looks are inspired from one another, other times they are a blatant copy.

Pakistani actor Yashma Gill recently celebrated her birthday among close friends and family. The actor's lowkey birthday celebrations went viral on social media, as did her look for the evening. One might see the uncanny resemblance between the two looks carried by the actors.

Clad in a denim saree, the Pyaar Ke Sadqay star carried a very similar look to Sonam's. The former kept her makeup minimal while opting for the same tanned belt and loafers.

Word to the wise: A little innovation might have gone a long way!
