Pakistani Twitter in fits over Indian media allegations of civil war in Karachi

Pakistanis took to the micro-blogging site and commented on fake news regarding the 'war-like' situation in the city

Viral footage and news stories were widely shared by the Indian media purportedly showing a civil war-like situation in Karachi between the army and Sindh’s police force.

A verified account of an Indian advocate, Pratashnt Patel Umrao, shared an 'update' and wrote, "Civil War like situation in Pakistan. Army-Police clash in Karanchi, many officers are died. Maximum Police Officers from Sindh have went on leave. They are demanding Sindhu Desh. Imran has ordered to play Pak National songs on Radio."

Pakistanis went on to respond to the aforementioned false news. What followed, was a plethora of memes and rib-tickling retweets.

When The Express Tribune asked Sindh Police officials about the veracity of the claims, it was vehemently denied.
