CDA seeks public support on cleanliness

CDA will take all necessary steps to enhance the beauty of the city

ISLAMABAD:

The head of the apex civic authority of the federal capital on Tuesday urged residents of Islamabad to cooperate with them in keeping their respective areas clean. He made the appeal while addressing the media after inspecting cleanliness in various areas of the city on Tuesday. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Chief Commissioner Aamer Ali Ahmed on Tuesday admitted that the responsibility of keeping the city clean was that of the authority. However, he said that residents should also cooperate in this regard. Dilating on the role of citizens, he said that it was very important that garbage should not be dumped in the markets and in front of their homes. Rather, it should be properly disposed of in the waste bins placed across the city. Islamabad is one of the most beautiful cities of the world, Ahmed said, adding that the CDA will take all necessary steps to enhance the beauty of the city. Urging sanitation officers and workers to carry on their hard work, he warned that no compromise will be made on keeping the city clean.
