Police claim recovering drugs from couple

The team arrested the suspects and also recovered 1.3 kilogramme of heroin and half kilogramme of hashish

ISLAMABAD:

Police claimed to have arrested two people for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to the city.

According to a police spokesman, Sadder Circle DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan received information from an informer that a car was carrying drugs for supply in southern cities.

DSP Awan constituted a team comprising SHO Tarnol Aalamgir Khan and sub-inspectors Muhammad Khan and Shahid Asghar for checking near Chungi no 26.

The team arrested the suspects and also recovered 1.3 kilogramme of heroin and half kilogramme of hashish from them. The accused, identified as Anzar Gul and Shahida Bibi confessed to inter-city drug smuggling.

Meanwhile, SHO Golra police station Inspector Shamul Akber, SI Munir Khan along with others officials caught Mumtaz and recovered 1.16kg hashish from him.
