Govt to release Rs1,834m for health projects

The government is planning to provide healthcare facilities to the far-flung areas of the province

BALOCHISTAN:

The Balochistan government will release Rs1,834 million in the current financial year for the execution of development projects in health sector of the province, according to a government official.

Talking to APP, he said the provincial government has allocated Rs300 million for the extension of Fatima Jinnah Hospital to provide health care facilities to people.

“The government is planning to provide healthcare facilities to the far-flung areas of the province,” he said, adding five new basic health units (BHUs) would be established in various areas of the province.

To ensure state-of-the-art medical facilities to locals at their doorsteps, he said new hospitals would be constructed at Mashkel, Taftan, Naseerabad and other areas of Balochistan.

The establishment of a 20-bed fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) at District Headquarter Hospital Zhob and Turbat was in the pipeline, he added.
