Man confesses to beheading 72-year-old wife in Karachi

Yousuf Ali was returning home after committing the crime when he was intercepted by police

A man confessed to killing his wife and throwing her decapitated body in the bushes on Thursday.

In a video statement, Yousuf Ali said that he beheaded his 72-year-old wife, Rizwana Parveen, and threw the remains in the bushes after sunset.

According to Surjani Town SHO Nazim Rao, Yousuf is a resident of Lines Area. He brought his wife to Surjani Town under the pretext of picking vegetables but then murdered her using a sharp weapon.

Yousuf was returning home after committing the crime when he was intercepted by the police.

Caught with blood stains on his clothes and a sharp weapon on his person, Yousuf crumbled under questioning and told the police what he had done, said Rao.

The police teams are searching for the victim's head in the bushes. The accused is the father of four sons and four daughters.
