Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Ahmad Ijaz Masood said cleanliness was part of the faith and it protects people from innumerable diseases.
He expressed these views while speaking in a seminar on World Hand Washing Day on Thursday.
Speakers at the seminar gave lectures on the benefits of hand hygiene and handwashing in children.
Dr Masood praised the organisers for arranging the awareness seminar and distributed honorary shields.
The speakers said parents should inculcate the habit of washing hands in their kids to check infections and diseases.
They quoted examples from Islam about the importance of cleanliness for everyone.
