Two men found ‘tortured to death’

The bodies of two elderly men who had seemingly been tortured to death were found in the city on Monday.
The body of a man was found from a house in New Karachi Industrial Area. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
According to head muharrar Ali Akbar, the deceased, identified as Moin Ali, 75, had apparently died after being beaten up in a domestic dispute. However, he added that the actual cause of death would be ascertained after the postmortem report.
Akbar said the police had taken a woman into custody for interrogation but legal action would be taken if Ali's son registered an FIR.
Separately, a body bearing torture marks was found near Chashma Goth in Ibrahim Hyderi. It was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
SHO Chaudhry Shahid stated that the deceased, identified as Sultan, 70, was killed after being hit on the head with a brick. He said that the police suspected Sultan was killed in a scuffle.
