Crime on the rise in Pindi
Residents have complained of a rising rate of crime in the garrison city with as many as 35 incidents of snatchings, robberies and thefts reported.
Police said that separate incidents of robbery, burglary, snatching and theft were reported from various areas of the city in which citizens were deprived of five vehicles, a rickshaw and nine motorcycles along with cash and valuables.
Akram and Hameedullah were respectively deprived of Rs7,500 and Rs48,000 along with a mobile phone in two separate incidents within the limits of Rata-e-Amral police station.
In a separate incident, armed men snatched Rs15,000 and two mobile phones from Muhammad Waseem and others in the jurisdiction of the Bani police station. The victims were injured after robbers shot at them.
Unidentified armed robbers took away a mobile phone from Zafar, Rs150,000 and a mobile phone from Shakir in remits of the Newtown police station. In another incident, a woman was deprived of Rs50,000 and her handbag.
Mehdi was deprived of at least Rs10,000 and mobile phone while two expensive mobiles phones were snatched from Nadeem and Kafeel within the limits of the Newtown police station.
In yet another incident, Rs25,000 cash, a mobile phone and a motorbike were stolen from Noman in Sadiqabad area. Faisal Mushtaq told the Airport police that he was robbed of Rs8,000 and a mobile phone while another resident, Suleman, filed a report at the Wah police station that he has been robbed of a mobile.
