He also instructed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) police to give him a briefing about the ongoing investigation.
Earlier, levies had taken into custody two suspects in connection with the incident. Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah Tariq Javed Mengal had said that the culprits would be brought to justice at all cost, adding that an investigation team was constituted to interrogate the suspects.
The tragic incident occurred at a time when a two-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Charsadda, sparking a nationwide protest.
The girl disappeared on Tuesday while playing outside her village home in Charsadda district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Her body was discovered a day later, prompting a large-scale manhunt that by Saturday had led to the arrests of at least 17 men, district police chief Muhammad Shoaib said.
