CDA puts on best show
Eager to show performance after the exit of the first elected mayor of the city, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had another busy.
“CDA had another busy day on roads, in streets, parks and markets on Saturday to provide maximum civic facilities to residents of Islamabad,” said a press release of the authority.
Islamabad Capital Territory Chief Secretary Amir Ali Ahmed in his capacity as CDA chairman and officers of the formations concerned remained in the field to monitor the progress of road, markets and streets maintenance, parks upkeep, sanitation, street lights and horticulture.
CDA is undertaking this extensive exercise in the city following transfer of four directorates to CDA from MCI, spokesmen of CDA said.
In line with the direction of CDA management, staff of Sanitation Directorate will continue special cleanliness operation on Sunday and special teams in this regard have been constituted.
Sanitation Staff carried out cleanliness of markets , sectoral area and open spaces. CDA has requested the residents to not to burn the garbage heaps in the green areas and open spaces as it adversely affects the environment of the city. Sanitation staff in shifts working on removal of garbage dumps in the open spaces and other areas of the city. MPO Directorate continued carpeting work on Islamabad Expressway. In line with the directions of CDA management maximum material is being obtained from the asphaltic plant.
