In his message on the National Day of Safety from Natural Calamities, he stated that the earthquake which jolted certain areas of Pakistan on October 8, 2005, was the most disastrous as the devastation and destruction caused by it was unforgettable. “The nation stood with the earthquake victims at the time. It was sanguine that the Pakistani nation vigorously worked to help and assist the victims and proved that they were united at every difficult moment.” The CM remarked that the nation set many examples of sacrifice, help and assistance at the time of this earthquake, he added. He further said that public awareness was important for dealing with any untoward situation whereas trained human resources played equally an important role.
