Excise dept collects Rs370m in taxes

The Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs370 million property tax during the first three months of the fiscal year against a set target of Rs317 million. Similarly, the collected tax worth Rs58 million was higher than the target recovered during the correspondent period of last year, said the Excise and Taxation Officer Khalid Hussain Qasuri on Wednesday. The department collected more than the set target of Rs150 million were collected from the tax payers from an e-payment system for the first time in Multan. The set target for the ongoing fiscal year of Multan is Rs675 million.
