Suspect accidentally shoots himself while opening fire at shopkeeper

KARACHI:

A man was killed and another injured during a robbery at a local milk shop in P&T Society on Tuesday night.

Two men on a motorcycle were reportedly trying to flee after robbing the milk shop when the shopkeeper tried to stop them. They opened fire, injuring the shopkeeper, while one suspect was hit by the accidental discharge of his own firearm. Leaving him behind, the other suspect fled the site.

The injured men were being shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre when the suspect succumbed to his injuries.

According to Korangi Industrial Area SHO Nawaz Gondal, the shopkeeper was identified as Zafar Iqbal, 36, while the suspect was identified as Imran Gulzar. The deceased had reportedly also been arrested in the past.

The police found a pistol and a motorcycle, used by the suspects, at the crime scene and have launched an investigation.
