Abduction attempt foiled

Local residents foiled an attempt of five people allegedly kidnapping an 18-year-old girl in the limits of Alipur police station. Police said on Tuesday that the victim was returning to her home along with her mother after buying medicines from a medical store. When they reached near Fateh Pur area, they were intercepted by five unidentified motorcyclists on gun point. The kidnappers started chasing the girl and her mother. However, the victims started hue and cry, which caught the attention of the local residents. The passersby gathered and foiled the abduction attempt, compelling the five suspects to escape. Police have registered a case against the suspects.
