Extended patrols for Mohafiz, Dolphin force
To curb rising street crime, the Rawalpindi Police Operations-SSP Shoaib Mehmood has directed to increase the duty hours of the special Mohafiz Squad while they will also be provided with additional fuel to ensure effective monitoring and surveillance.
SSP Mehmood stated that the Dolphin and Mohafiz squads will perform their duties in their respective beats.
He added that they have worked to make police patrolling more efficient apart from introducing a new beat system - including halting points and security checkpoints for Mohafiz and Dolphin squads.
While patrolling the streets, the Dolphin squad and Mohafiz Squad have been directed to maintain discipline and to keep an open line of communication with the other to curb crimes.
Mehmood further said that the performance of the Mohafiz and Dolphin Squad is better but there remains room for improvement.
On building a new system, he said that the method of patrolling of Mohafiz and Dolphin squads was to control crime through effective coordination and effective use of modern projects such as police station, mohafiz, dolphins, tactical action group and central picketing unit and to bring criminals under control of law so that a sense of security can be created in the society.
