Covid-19 claims two more lives in Punjab

Helpline 1033 should be used on immediate detection of virus symptoms

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed two more lives in the province while the number of coronavirus cases in Punjab exceeded 99,810 after registration of 147 new virus cases.

According to the spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Sunday, so far the total number of deaths in the province had been recorded at 2,240.

The P&SHD spokesperson confirmed that 58 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, five in Nankana Sahib, one in Kasur, one in Sheikhupura ,45 in Rawalpindi, two in Jhelum, one in Attock, five in Gujranwala and three in Sialkot.

Moreover, four virus cases were reported in Mandi Bahauddin, seven in Multan, and one new case in Sahiwal over the last 24 hours.

The health department conducted 1,300,789 tests for Covid-19 while 95,716 confirmed cases recovered in the province.

The said department’s officials urged the citizens to follow SOPs for their protection and cover their face with masks. The people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from the rebounding virus, they added.
