Jam Kamal promises promotion of martial arts

Sports complexes to be constructed in every district

QUETTA:

The Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan Jam Kamal visited Shotokan Karate academy in Quetta’s Hazara Town on Sunday and promised to promote martial arts throughout the province.

“Martial Arts clubs will be given full assistance and facilities to introduce more martial arts athletes from Balochistan,” he said.

While speaking to the officials of Shotokan Karate academy, CM Kamal assured to provide financial assistance to the academy on behalf of the provincial government.

“The Government of Balochistan is fully committed to promote healthy and recreational activities in the province,” the provincial chief executive said. “We are taking solid steps for promotion of sports activities across the province.”

It is pertinent to mention that the provincial government has allocated immense funds for progress in sports. “A sports complex is also being constructed in all the districts for the youth,” he added.

Martial arts originated as ancient combat techniques. They involve performing technical and often explosive moves such as kicks and punches.

Even though some forms of martial arts involves the use of swords, bow and arrow or other weapons. Practitioners boost their strength, agility, balance, power, reflexes, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance.

Equally important as the fighting and technical aspects of martial arts are the mental and spiritual components, which focus on improving mental endurance, resilience, and concentration, controlling emotions and negative thinking apart from ultimately, transcending the ego and its mental traps.
