Cops rescue kidnapped boy

KARACHI:

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) police recovered an eight-year old boy and claimed to have arrested two kidnappers.

According to AVCC officials, five suspects had abducted the boy from Ghaghar Phatak on September 25. Three of their accomplices were arrested earlier, said the police.

Separately, a man was shot and arrested after an alleged encounter with the Azizabad police in Karimabad. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

According to Central SSP Arif Aslam Rao, the man was looting citizens along with his accomplice when the cops arrived. The police claimed to have found stolen money and a weapon in his possession. His accomplice managed to flee.

Besides, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police claimed to have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in counterfeiting currency.
