Weddings in our culture have always been celebrated in a unique way and all brides have had a history of having an unmatched grace, charm, and elegance. From ethnic Mughal inspired lehngas to contemporary shararas, the bride-to-be leaves no stone unturned when she is making a decision for all her wedding events. Shahrose Chaudri, CEO at denim brand Rosee was also one glamorous bride who made sure her creative juices were flowing for endless inspiration while choosing the most significant outfits of her life. Shahrose shared with us all the details of her extravagant designer ensembles worn by her during the wedding festivities.

Engagement

My engagement dress by Faraz Mannan was inspired by a classic Cinderella elegant feel with winter royalty allowing me to opt for the colour, silver. It was a contemporary outfit that was a stunning cross between a lengha and a gown. Rather than carrying something over my head, I decided for a drape, attached to the shoulders of my dress looking like a runway piece leaving impact as I would walk and have a drape while seated. Dark smokey eyes added extra charm and elegance to my look.

Party

The party dress was inspired by Venice Masquerade comprising elements of Great Gatsby meets Dolce & Gabanna. The dress was beautifully designed by Khadijah Shah of Elan allowing accents of gold to light up my skin tone and sitting very well with the party’s theme. The bold red lips and a chunky jeweled hair band matched with an Eddie Parker customised clutch that had my name along with my husband’s name added tons of glamour and made the statement that night.

Nikkah

My Nikkah dress was inspired from the grand Mughal era, keeping the Islamic vibe in mind as it was a religious ceremony. Designed by Sabyasachi, it was a white lengha with intricate gold embroidery and a kurta top. I paired it with gold and emerald choker and earrings matched with a Sabyasachi mang tikka to complete the look. My engagement make-up was done by Shahzad of Ather Shehzad, who made my cheekbones prominent and eyes charming and starlit with heavy lashes creating a perfect almond outline along with pink lips. The whole look was a royal vintage.

Shendi

My Shendi outfit was inspired by “traditional Jaipur royalty meets Paris”. Faraz Manan created the stunning red lengha adorned with copious amounts of intricate gold embroidery. The outfit was not only the most extravagant but also beautifully flowing as I twirled and walked. The jewellery comprised of Indian Jaipur polki necklace consisting of two different patterns of glass polki. A very unique piece was made in collaboration of an Indian jeweler and Sonica jewellers in Lahore. The bindi and earrings were kept light while the heavy necklace sat on a a simpler embroidered top creating a balance in order to not be overdone. My jewellery was matched with old traditional gold bangles. On my Shendi, Shahzad created a look keeping an image of a young happy bride who needed only nude lips, prominent eyes and natural make-up with the rest of the outfit.

Valima

My Valima outfit was inspired by a youthful elegance of a mermaid in the sea. With my favourite colour being turquoise, Bunto Kazmi took the different hues of blue and found the perfect sea blue colour combined with heavy embellishment and intricate ganga jamni (gold and silver mix) embroidery emanating modern and glamorous ensemble. The jewellery was from Kamyen in Dubai, which was a diamond and emerald necklace with matching earrings. But my favourite was a Colombian emerald ring given to me by my mother.
