MULTAN:

The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) in Multan reunited as many as 38 minors found in various areas of the city with their respective families during the month of September.

As per details, the welfare bureau took a total of 46 children in protective custody and reunited 38 of them with their respective families during its operations conducted last month.

Reportedly, these children were taken in protective custody from different parts of the city and markets after they were abandoned by their families, found begging in the streets, wandering around public places.

Many of the minors had also escaped from their homes while some were taken into protective custody after CPWB received calls on the helpline 1121. Multan CPWB Coordinator Naveed Mukhtar said that 38 children were reunited with their respective families after they were traced with the help of information provided to them.

He further said that over 50 destitute children were residing at Multan CPWB where they were availing facilities including food, shelter, education and other basic facilities necessary to make them productive members of society.
