Registered voters increase by 9.7m after 2018 elections

The number of registered voters in Pakistan has increased by 9,793,344 taking the total voters in the country to 115,748,753 after the 2018 general elections, according to the final electoral lists released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday.

According to the list, the number of voters in Punjab has reached 66,236,144 people, in Sindh 24,351,681 people, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 19,533,964 people, in Balochistan 4,801,131 people and in Islamabad 825,833.

The list further revealed a difference of 12,411,017 more female voters as compared to male voters across the country. According to the updated list, countrywide male voters are 64,078,616, female voters are 51,667,599 and transgender voters are 2,538.

However, 105,955,409 voters were registered in the 2018 general elections, according to the ECP.

The final electoral lists will be posted in the offices of the District Election Commissioner and Registration Officers for public inspection from October 4. For the convenience of voters, ECP has updated 8300 short messaging service (SMS) through which voters can check their registration according to the final electoral lists.
