‘No torture marks on Naqeebullah’s body’
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) recorded on Thursday the statement of a medico-legal officer (MLO) from the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), while hearing the Naqeebullah murder case.
Submitting the medical report in court, the MLO informed the ATC that no torture marks had been found on Naqeebullah's body. He further stated that the bullet wound Naqeebullah sustained in the chest had proved fatal for him.
Meanwhile, the court expressed annoyance over the DSP’s absence during the hearing and failure to present a report on fugitive suspects.
Moreover, the court issued a notice to the East DIG, directing him to appear before it in a personal capacity at the next hearing on October 7. The court also summoned other witnesses at the next hearing.
The accused's counsel, Akbar Mallah, will cross-examine the MLO over his statement.
The accused, including former Malir SSP Rao Anwar, DSP Qamar and others, were present during the hearing.
