Fazl’s aide remanded in NAB custody
An accountability court on Wednesday extended the physical remand Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s close aide Musa Khan for five days. The accountability judge directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to present him before the court on October 5. The bureau produced him before the court on expiry of his previous remand and requested an extension in his remand for further investigation. The anti-corruption watchdog had arrested Musa Khan on September 23 on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to sources of his income. He is a former district forest officer while his eldest son Tariq Baloch is the personal secretary of JUI-F chief. The corruption watchdog is also investigating the JUI-F chief in assets beyond means case. On September 29, the bureau had said that the inquiry against Fazl was underway at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) NAB. The JUI-F chief could be summoned to appear before the NAB team in connection with the investigation against him, it said.
