NA speaker promises support to businessmen
The business community is doing a tremendous job for promoting economic activities and the government will offer all possible cooperation to resolve its key issues, said National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.
Speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Tuesday, he assured businessmen that he would summon officials of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other entities before the National Assembly standing committees in a bid to resolve major issues of the business community. “This way, businessmen can be facilitated in promoting business activities further,” he said.
Speaking at the gathering, MNA Sajida Zulfiqar appreciated the efforts made by outgoing ICCI President Muhammad Ahmed Waheed and his team for the welfare of business community.
She voiced hope that the incoming office-bearers would achieve many new milestones for the business community.
Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Chairman Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan briefed meeting participants about the potential investment opportunities in Punjab and urged businessmen to capitalise on them for achieving lucrative results.
Outgoing ICCI president Muhammad Ahmed Waheed recalled that some long-standing issues of the business community related to the FBR and other organisations were resolved during his tenure. He hoped that his successor would carry forward the positive initiatives to serve the business community.
Newly elected ICCI President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan assured businessmen that he would make efforts to organise state-of-the-art exhibitions in Islamabad, steer work on a new industrial estate in the capital city and hold seminars for the benefit of business community.
