Pakistani celebrities pay tribute to Dean Jones

From Bilal Ashraf to Fahad Mustafa, many public figures have offered their respects to the late Aussie cricketer

Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has passed away after a sudden cardiac arrest in Mumbai. The former Australian cricketer was in Mumbai as he was doing off-tube commentary on the Indian Premier League 2020 now underway in UAE.

Jones became one of the prominent faces in Pakistani cricket, particularly the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Jones coached the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Islamabad United, which won the title in 2016 and 2018. He was also the head coach of Karachi Kings in the fifth edition of PSL.

Given his popularity in the country, many took to social media to pay their respects to the late cricketing legend, including various figures from the entertainment industry.

Singer and actor Farhan Saeed went on deem, Jones a 'rockstar' as he offered his respects.

Veteran TV personality Fakhr-e-Alam along with singer and actor Haroon Shahid talked about his fandom both in and outside Pakistan.

Social media personality Shaniera Akram thanked people across South Asia for showering her fellow Austrailian with love throughout.
